We Bring Ballet Beyond the Studio

Marin Ballet is proud to extend its mission beyond our studios through meaningful community engagement programs that foster creativity, connection, and joy. Whether it’s through storytelling, movement, or education, our outreach efforts bring the art of ballet to schools, libraries, and senior centers across Marin County.

Exploring the Great Classical Ballets at the Tiburon Library

Join us for an enchanting series designed especially for adults and seniors: Exploring the Great Full-Length Classical Ballets, led by Marin Ballet’s Artistic Administrator and Community Engagement Coordinator, Corinne Jonas.

In this free 4-part series, participants will dive into the stories, music, and movement of four beloved ballets:

  • October 9, La Bayadere
  • November 13, La Sylphide

📍 Belvedere Tiburon Library
🕚 Thursdays | 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

What to Expect:

  • Captivating storytelling and historical insights

  • Analysis of iconic ballet scores

  • Stunning performance video clips

  • A short and accessible movement lesson inspired by each ballet

No prior dance experience required! Most of the class is seated, with light movement at the end. Just wear something comfortable.

“Ballet has the power to inspire, uplift, and connect people across generations. We look forward to fostering a sense of joy and camaraderie through this program.”
Milos Petrovic, Tiburon Library Program Manager

Ballet Classes at Hamilton School

In 2025, we began a program where each Friday, Corinne Jonas taught a dance to more than 70 students at Hamilton School in Novato, where many families face financial challenges. For many of these children, it was their first experience with music and dance.

“The students were so proud to perform for their families. It was a powerful moment for Marin Ballet.”
Mona Steinberg, Board President

This program brings joy, confidence, and creativity to a school community that deserves access to the arts.

Dance for Seniors at Vivalon

Faculty member Laurie Klein teaches Ballet Fundamentals at Vivalon in San Rafael, a free class designed to support balance, strength, and flexibility in older adults.

“This is the most popular class we’ve offered in a long time.”
Ariana Diaz-Abreu, Vivalon Program Manager

The class is gentle, fun, and welcoming to all.
