By the time our students reach their senior year in high school they have had more than ten years of rigorous ballet training. Marin Ballet has become a second home to them. Their most precious friendships are here.  Their most inspirational mentors are here. Our 2022 graduates are an accomplished, articulate group. Here’s what they have to say about their Marin Ballet experience.

Rhianon
My time here has shaped who I am, from the friends I have met to the glittering performances to the everyday classes, sweaty and difficult but satisfying. I am a better person because of it. I don’t think I would be nearly as ready for my journey out into the world without this gift of dance.

Maddie
The excitement for dance and the ability to share my passion and emotions with the rest of the world is something I am so grateful for. Ballet has become an outlet in which I can express such raw and honest emotions. From lyrical and elastic contemporary pieces to exact and graceful classical dances, I am now able to embrace the movement and show how I’m feeling through dance.

Samantha
Before the pandemic, I didn’t fully acknowledge the power and joy of dancing with others. Now I recognize how inexplicably special it is to be able to move together as a group. There is this synergy that is created by the connection between dancers that is magical, and for that, I’m so grateful that we’ve all been able to dance together for the seniors’ last year at Marin Ballet.

Isabella
After going from pre-ballet to levels 1-8 and finally level 9, I know that I would do it all over again in a heartbeat if I could. To the gifted teachers of Marin Ballet, thank you for all that you have given me. To the younger students reading this, know that all your dedication today will be worth it for the memories you make and the friends you’ll have tomorrow.

Delia
Marin Ballet has provided me with so many incredible teachers. Ms. Moore instilled in me a strong work ethic. Ms. Jonas taught me true artistry in ballet. Ms. Adam encouraged me to calm my intensity, and lightened the studio with her humor. Ms. Johnson consistently pushed me to dance to my fullest ability. Erica inspired me with her incredible talent and challenging classes. Casey introduced me to letting go with contemporary movement. Ms. Jennings gifted us all with the incredible works of Balanchine and taught me how to feel beautiful while dancing.

Gabriella
And to the wonderful teachers who have taught me in level 9, I am forever grateful for everything that I have learned with you. Ms. Lucas, Ms. Jennings, and Erica have molded me into the dancer I am today. I have truly learned patience, grace, and dedication from these inspirational women. There will always be a special place in my heart for you.
